[Trending News] Wolves predicted XI vs Blackburn Rovers as Vitor Pereira unleashes £14m star in five changes

Wolves head to Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup fourth round on Sunday and Vitor Pereira will see this as a huge opportunity.

Wolves beat Bristol City in the third round and away from the distractions of Premier League survival, Pereira’s men can play with the pressure off.

The Old Gold are currently in 17th position in the table, whereas their opponents Blackburn are fifth in the Championship.

Under the guidance of John Eustace, Rovers are having an excellent campaign after many tipped them to either battle for survival or drop into League One at the start of the season.

Chris Sutton thinks Blackburn will beat Wolves on Sunday, seeing this as a chance for his former club to pull off a shock victory.

Wolves team and injury news ahead of Blackburn Rovers

On Friday evening it emerged that Wolves are in talks to terminate Craig Dawson’s contract. Pereira doesn’t see the veteran defender as part of his plans and as a result, is set to leave him out of his 25-man squad alongside forward Sasa Kalajdzic.

“I gave the information in advance to the club that if we bring in another centre-back, I will not have space for Craig in the squad,” Pereira said.

Some will be surprised by the decision to leave an experienced player like Dawson out but with his contract expiring in the summer, perhaps it was the correct decision.

In other news, Pereira confirmed that midfielder Boubacar Traore is available to play against Blackburn Rovers while Jorgen Strand Larsen is closing in on a return to action.

Meanwhile, the Portuguese boss was unable to reveal whether Nasser Djiga and Marshall Munetsi would make their Wolves debuts, although it seems unlikely.

Wolves predicted lineup vs Blackburn Rovers

Just like he did in the win over Bristol City, Pereira will make changes to the side but still field a strong starting lineup.

This means Sam Johnstone could replace Jose Sa in goal after playing in the previous round. He could be joined by a back three of Emmanuel Agbadou, new signing Djiga and Toti Gomes.

Djiga’s inclusion depends on whether he’s trained, though, and if he isn’t ready, perhaps he will put Santiago Bueno back into the side.

Pereira could also rest Nelson Semedo and start young right wing-back Pedro Lima, who deserves a chance after slipping under the radar.

A change could also be made at left wing-back, replacing Wolves wing-back Rayan Ait-Nouri with Rodrigo Gomes, another who has impressed when given the chance under Pereira.

As for the midfield two, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde was incredible against Aston Villa and shouldn’t be dropped here, and perhaps he will continue alongside Andre, although don’t be surprised if new signing Marshall Munetsi gets the nod.

Pablo Sarabia performed superbly last weekend, keeping his place at Ashton Gate as a result, with Matheus Cunha on the left and the £14m Hwang Hee-chan leading the line in place of Goncalo Guedes.

Wolves predicted XI vs Blackburn Rovers (3-4-3): Johnstone; Djiga, Agbadou, Toti; Lima, Bellegarde, Andre, R. Gomes; Sarabia, Cunha, Hwang.
