Wedding bells are ringing! Netflix dropped its dramatic Love Is Blind Season 8 finale on March 7, which saw four couples make it to the altar. Who got married, who walked away, and what is the current status of their relationships? Read on to find out all the details.

The eighth season of Netflix’s popular dating experiment premiered on Valentine’s Day. This season took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where 32 singles from the Twin Cities, aged 26 to 43, entered the pods to see if they could fall in love without meeting face to face.

Five engaged couples left the pods and headed to a romantic getaway in Honduras, but the real test began once they returned to the real world. For Dave Bettenburg and Lauren O’Brien, those challenges became too much to overcome, making them the only Love Is Blind Season 8 couple who didn’t make it to their wedding day.

David and Lauren’s journey began in the pods, where they found themselves in a love triangle with Molly. Ultimately, David chose Lauren, but their relationship took a turn for the worse after they returned from Honduras. David discovered that Lauren had previously been involved with someone in his social circle. While Lauren and her friends downplayed the past involvement as a casual fling, David’s friends insisted it was something bigger.

Tensions further escalated during a group outing when David expected support from Molly, only for her to side with Lauren, accusing him of making “excuses” to push Lauren away. David and Lauren’s relationship had run its course, and they called things off before their wedding.

Monica And Joey

Relationship status: Broken up

Monica and Joey were the first couple to get engaged on the show and appeared to have a strong connection, even as their families voiced concerns that the wedding was happening too soon.

Monica opened up to her bridal party about her lingering doubts on their wedding day. “It’s a little uncomfortable for me to really trust in his words, rather than seeing his emotions,” she admitted. “I’m holding back because I haven’t gotten 100% from him.”

Meanwhile, Joey still struggled with Monica’s sister’s opposition to their marriage. When they reached the altar, he told Monica he loved her for the first time, but she didn’t say it back. “I just feel like we’re not quite there,” she said. He agreed.

“I think we both have a tremendous amount of love for each other, and that’s apparent,” he said. “But I think there’s bigger things and bigger growth and I agree. I don’t think I would be ready. I need to be 100%. And to be completely 100% honest, I’m also not 100% at this time.”

Devin And Virginia

Relationship status: Broken up

Devin and Virginia formed an instant connection in the pods and were surprised to discover that they both attended the same high school, despite never having met since Virginia is five years older. Although they faced some challenges, including difficult discussions about politics and a prenup, their relationship appeared to be one of the strongest in the group.

However, as their wedding day approached, Devin started having doubts. “Now that it’s the day of, I’m like, ‘I don’t know if I wanna marry her,’” he said. The basketball coach went on to say “I do,” but it was actually Virginia who decided to end their relationship. “I love you so much but I’m just not ready” she admitted at the altar.

Heartbroken, Devin broke down in tears, while Virginia later reflected on their relationship in her confessional. She admitted there were “depths of our relationships that we didn’t get to,” including their sexual relationship. “So I just think we should be all the way there before we decide to spend the rest of our lives together,” she explained.

Ben And Sara

Relationship status: Broken up

Ben and Sara formed a connection in the pods, but their differing political and social views presented some challenges. Sara was passionate about issues such as the Black Lives Matter movement and LGBTQ+ rights, while Ben, who emphasized the importance of faith in his life, admitted he was “ignorant” about those topics. Despite their differences, they believed their values aligned and decided to get engaged.

However, in Episode 10, Sara discovered that Ben’s ex released a TikTok video in which she called some of the Season 8 cast “s—– men,” referring to him. Ben said the woman was overreacting and said they never hooked up. Despite her concerns, Sara chose to give him another chance but made her boundaries clear. “If more comes out of this, if I find out there’s anything at all, I won’t be able to trust you.”

On their wedding day, Sara couldn’t bring herself to say yes to Ben. “Ben, I love you so much, but I’ve always wanted a partner to be on the same wavelength, and so today I can’t,” she told him. “I don’t want that to be misunderstood. I still love you and everything about you is amazing, and I care about you so much.”

While Ben suggested they work things out and “keep growing our relationship,” Sara responded, “We’ll see. We’ll talk about that.”

Daniel and Taylor

Relationship status: Married

Self-proclaimed Christmas enthusiasts Daniel and Taylor hit it off in the pods, bonding over their shared faith and love for the holiday season. However, their relationship hit a brief snag when Taylor told producers she believed Daniel had previously followed her on Instagram.

Thankfully, producers confirmed that Daniel had never followed her, allowing the couple to move forward. Despite some wedding day nerves, the two ultimately said, “I do,” making them the only couple from Love Is Blind Season 8 to go all the way.

Daniel began reading his vows at the altar but quickly went off script, sharing how he fell in love with Taylor and their journey to becoming best friends. Taylor, in turn, read a journal entry from July 2020, where she had prayed for a husband. She told Daniel he was “quite literally an answer to my prayers” and that their souls had known each other for a “lifetime.”

“We are excited to start the next chapter as Mr. and Mrs. Hastings,” Taylor said, to which Daniel responded, “[I’m the] luckiest guy in the world.”

The Love is Blind Season 8 reunion will air on March 9 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT on Netflix. Stay tuned for more details about the special.
