Starting this Monday, be aware that you will feel less the 'weight' in your wallet, at the time of certifying your vehicle's fuel tank: both diesel and gasoline will go down to the week, the second consecutive cost reduction. “This week's trend will be for a downhill of 0.0289 euros in diesel and a descent of 0.0340 euros in gasoline 95,” he said to the 'Executive Digest' source of one of the national brand owl.

Already in the main national gasolineiras, “the evolution of prices in euros points to a descent by up to 3.5 cents in gasoline 95 and up to four cents in the price of diesel,” said another source.

Data from the General Directorate of Energy and Geology (DGEG) show that the average price of the liter of gasoline in Portugal currently costs 1.736 euros while the diesel is worth 1,637 euros. Quotations can however vary in supply posts, as the price set in the network is still in mind the level of competition, supply and demand in each market and the fixed cost level of each post.

Since the beginning of the year, gasoline 95 has increased from 1.722 to 1,736 euros/liter, while diesel went from 1.609 to 1,637 euros/liter. That is, attesting to the deposit with 60 liters of fuel was 1.68 euros more expensive (in the case of diesel) and 0.84 more expensive euros (in the case of gasoline). According to the latest European Commission newsletter, a liter of gasoline costs more 6.6 cents than the European average and 20.3 cents more than in Spain – with our country to occupy 8th place in the most expensive 95 gasoline. In the case of diesel, Portugal appears in 9th place, and the difference to the neighboring country is encrypted in 17.4 cents.
