A shopping center in West Chester has found itself in the middle of a search engine mishap after its name got changed on Google Maps.The Voice of America Shopping Centre, located in West Chester, now appears as the “Voice of Mexico Center” on Google.The name change was posted to Reddit by a user who said, “It had to be changed by whoever controls the listing or by a large number of known Google accounts requesting the same edit.”According to Google, businesses can edit their profiles directly on Google Search and Maps or users can request or suggest an edit.The shopping center along Voice of America Centre Drive houses multiple businesses, from clothing stores to restaurants.The name change follows an executive action by President Donald Trump that renamed the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America. That listing is now active in Google Maps. Google has previously said it has “a longstanding practice of applying name changes when they have been updated in official government sources.”
