In the first minute of trading, the RTS and Mosbirzhi indices increased by 6.6% to the level of closing the main session of the previous day. Soon the Mosbirzhi index adjusted and amounted to 3224.38 points, the RTS index – 1080.03 points. By 10:33 the Mosbirzhi index already amounted to 3148.14 points, the RTS – 1057.31.

The capitalization of the Russian market for the MOEX index at 9 am reached 7.05 trillion rubles, adding 0.5 trillion with the closure of the session on February 12, Kommersant writes.

NOVATEK shares (+9.6%), Gazprom (+8.4%), Rostelecom (+8.2%), Aeroflot (+8.2%), Rosneft (+8.2%) have risen in price. +7.6%), Sberbank (+7.5%), Lukoila (+6.9%) and other Russian companies.

The dollar exchange rate in the Forex International Currency Market fell to 89 rubles for the first time since September 2024.

Ekaterina Krylova, managing expert of the department of economic and industry analysis of PSB, confirmed RBC that the “geopolitical optimism” associated with the conversation of Putin and Trump led to the growth of the market. The same opinion was expressed by the Director of the Strategy of “Finam” Yaroslav Kabakov.

“Discussion of the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine and Trump's statements about the“ peaceful decision ”strengthened the hopes of investors for de -escalation. Analysts note the potential for the restoration of international calculations, which is critical of export-oriented companies, ”Kabakov said.

The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that the conversation lasted almost an hour and a half. The Kremlin reported that during the conversation “the topic of settlement in Ukraine was discussed,” adding that Trump “spoke out for a speedy stop of hostilities and solving the problem with peaceful means”.
