[Trending News] Taoiseach to discuss decision to meet Donald Trump on the Late Late show

The Late Late show has revealed that Taoiseach Micheál Martin will be in the studio on Friday to discuss his decision to meet Donald Trump as he prepares to visit Washington.

Joining host Patrick Kielty, Mr Martin will discuss why he is meeting the US president, along with the turbulent start to the new Dáil and how he plans to tackle Ireland’s housing crisis.

The Taoiseach is due to travel to the US for St Patrick’s Day, with a traditional trip to the White House for the shamrock ceremony also expected.

It comes after First Minister Michelle O’Neill, in line with her Sinn Féin colleagues, said she will not attend the White House as part of “a principled stance against the threat of mass expulsion of the Palestinian people from Gaza”.

Also joining The Late Late Show on Friday night on RTÉ One are two icons of stage and screen, multi-award winners Jessica Lange and Ed Harris.

Starring in the adaptation of Eugene O’Neill’s classic, Long Day’s Journey into Night, the Hollywood stars are in Ireland for the film’s world premiere at the Dublin International Film Festival.

Actor Danny Dyer will also be in studio on Friday night to promote his new movie, Marching Powder.

Danny will be chatting about life since he left Eastenders, capturing hearts as Freddie Jones in Disney Plus drama Rivals, and why he’s decided to run a caravan park this summer with his daughter Dani.

Co Donegal singer Muireann Bradley will also be in the studio to perform her cover of classic blues song Delia.
