The Imbituba Port Complex began 2025 with prominent numbers, reaching more than 600,000 tons in cargo movement in January, a record for the period. When compared to January 2024, the results remained stable, highlighting the continuity of growth and productivity of the port of Imbituba.

In January, the port of Imbituba received 28 vessels, representing a 33% increase over the same month of 2024. Regarding cargo movement, the commercial balance of shipments increased by 33% compared to December 2024. The landings presented a significant growth of 16% compared to December 2024 and a considerable increase of 36% compared to January 2024.

In total loads operated during the year 2024, the largest volumes were oil bun, containers, general load, bituminous hulha, salt, corn bran and wheat. Already in January 2025, the solid graneis represented more than 395 thousand tons, or 65% of the movement of the port, highlighting the oil bun, which exceeded 156 thousand tons.

According to the Secretary of Ports, Airports and Railways (SPAF), Beto Martins, the results continue to highlight the growth of port performance. “This is a significant result for the port of Imbituba. The numbers reflect the collective effort that has driven the logistics of Santa Catarina and, consequently, the economy of the southern region of the state, ”says Martins.

“These results consolidate Imbituba as a competitive logistics alternative and reflect the constant effort to improve port management, bringing benefits to everyone involved,” says Alexandre Pinter, acting director of SCPAR Porto de Imbituba.

Imports and exports

Imports led port operations, representing 54.3% of total cargo, and registered an increase of 35% compared to January 2024. Exports, in turn, corresponded to 33.6% of the total and also presented a 35% growth compared to last year.

Cabotage, or navigation between national ports, accounted for 9% of the total movements in Porto from January to October 2025, with an increase of 6% over the same period of 2024.

Foreign Trade Operations

According to data from the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC), import and export operations in the port of Imbituba moved more than $ 146 million in January 2025, further highlighting Porto's strategic importance for foreign trade .
