[Trending News] One dead and two serious injuries in an A1 accident between Santarém and Torres Novas

A 59-year-old man died following an accident late on Friday, February 21, in the highway 1, between Santarem and the departure of Torres Novas, to the Via kilometer 94 in the Zibreira area.

The alert for the accident was given at 17.55 hours, and to the scene were mobilized several means of the firefighters of the municipalities affected to the Subregional Civil Protection commands of the Tagus and Middle Tagus, a total of 30 operational, supported by 12 vehicles. .

There were also two emergency and resuscitation medical vehicles (VMER), elements of the BRISA and GNR dealership.

From the accident, which involved three slight passenger vehicles, also recorded three injured, two of them in a state considered severe and a light victim.

The most serious injuries were transported to the Leiria Hospital and the University of Coimbra Hospital.
The light victim was transported to the Santarém District Hospital.

During the relief and cleaning operations of the road, traffic was strongly conditioned, forming long lines.
