But it was his attacking play that earned him all the plaudits in his latest outing down south.
Christie whipped in a terrific ball from deep for Dango Ouattara to head home which gave Bournemouth the lead after 14 minutes.
It was a pinpoint cross from the former Celtic and Inverness Caley Thistle man which gave his team-mate the perfect chance to beat Aaron Ramsdale at his back post.
And just moments after the game got back underway, Ramsdale was beaten again.
This time it was Christie who found the back of the net with a long-range strike after finding space on the edge of the box, with Justin Kluivert finding him with a lay-off.
It was a perfect couple of minutes for Christie and Bournemouth.
And fans were blown away by the quick turnaround, and the Scotland star’s involvement.
Reacting to the two goals on social mediaone fan aimed a dig at the hosts while praising Christie.
The post read: “You know your team is bad when Ryan Christie turns up as Lionel Messi.”
Someone else commented: “Ryan Christie may have had the most unbelievable two minutes I’ve ever seen.”
