Sporting won the direct determination on Thursday to the Champions League quarters, drawing in Poland with Wisla Plock 29-29, ensuring the second place in Group A.

At a time when only the top two classifieds of each of the two groups go to the 'rooms', Sporting was enough for a draw in the Polish stronghold to secure second position, which he achieved with a goal in the final moments of the match, after entering the last few minutes with a disadvantage of three goals.

With this draw, Sporting finished the group in second position, with 18 points, the same as the Germans Fuchse Berlin and the French Paris Saint-Germain, but the Portuguese team eventually ensured the passage by taking advantage of the tiebreaker between the three formations.
