[Trending News] Greater Cincinnati park Voice of America changes to Voice of Mexico on Google

WEST CHESTER TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) – Voice of America MetroPark had a new name on Google Maps.

On Monday, people noticed that Voice of America MetroPark now appeared as Voice of Mexico MetroPark on Google Map searches. It was unclear how long the name change would last and why it changed in the first place.

According to Google Business Profile Help, there is a four-step process to verify a business account on Google before someone can update their business info, like name and operating hours on Google.

The name change occurred the same day that the National Voice of America Museum of Broadcasting opened back up after undergoing seven months of renovations.

On Feb. 9, President Donald Trump officially recognized the first “Gulf of America Day,” and Google updated the name change on its system and released the statement:

In the U.S., the Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) has officially updated ‘Gulf of Mexico’ to ‘Gulf of America.’ As we announced two weeks ago and consistent with our longstanding practices, we’ve begun rolling out changes to reflect this update. People using Maps in the U.S. will see ‘Gulf of America,’ and people in Mexico will see ‘Gulf of Mexico.’ Everyone else will see both names.
