The best of the Gala, the Canary Islands orchestras on the stage and the performance of Orishas. As expected, the 7,000 locations of the enclosure, this year 1,500 more in relation to the last edition, were covered by a delivered audience that wore their best clothing to enjoy a celebration of which, perhaps, it was expected more.

The event, which brought together eleven candidates, was consolidated again as one of the great attractions of these parties, whose impact transcends borders and reinforces its international projection. The new sovereign dazzled on stage with the fantasy “Connection”, a design by Alexis Santana.

The mayor of Santa Cruz, José Manuel Bermúdez, together with the Councilor for Fiestas, Javier Caraballero, and the outgoing queen, Corina Mrakez González, delivered the scepter to Elizabeth, thus marking the official start of the party in the street. Now, with the queen already proclaimed, the Carnival takes the capital with the expected Announcer Cavalcadewhich will begin this Friday, February 28.

Around him, the landscape came to life with ancestral songs and the dance of multiple dancers who embodied the flora of the continent. On them, two acrobats floated between fabrics, adding a touch of spectacularity to the opening.

The show gave way to the African fauna, with the queen of the tribe surrounded by SOUTH, Giraffes, Eagles and other animals. With Africa is carnival As hymn, a vibrant choreography was deployed until the appearance of the lion, king of the savanna, followed by the tribe. The energy grew with drums and dance, culminating with the entrance of the Simbi, a representation of the Senegalese rite of the false lions. The closure, a tribute in which Africa, the Canary Islands and the Carnival for the end, the outgoing queen, Corina Mrakez González, to receive the scepter of the hands of an acrobat, marking the beginning of a night that seemed memorable.

After an overture that failed to hook the public, possibly due to their leisurely development or the lack of unexpected turns, the first four contestants took the stage. Dispersed to the enclosure, the batucadas joined to give life to the characters of the Carnival and the queen of the Venezuelan Canarian home, culminating with the performance of Cariocas, winners of the first interpretation prize in the comparsas category.
