Botafogo failed to conquer the South American Super Cup, losing on Thursday at Racing 2-0 before confirming that Portuguese Renato Paiva will be the coach of the Brazilian club over the next two years.

The Rio de Janeiro team, which last season won the Libertadores Cup under the command of another Portuguese coach -Artur Jorge -repeated the result of the first leg at the Argentines stadium, where he lost 2-0 against the South American Cup winner.
