Two silvers for the Leonese delegation in the championships of Spain of Short-Track athletics that have taken place in Gallur (Madrid) this weekend, with Marta García and Mónica Borraz as Leon medalists.
With a representation of nine athletes from the province, up to four of them in the weight launch test, León returns from this appointment with two medals in his pocket.
Marta García has achieved silver in the Spanish championships of Short-Track in Gallur (Madrid) after a final vibrant with the Segoviana Águeda Marqués where she has given the surprise winning the Leonesa.
The expected hand in hand occurred between García and Marqués, both Olympic in Paris, with Idaira Prieto and Marta Serrano starring their particular struggle for entering the podium, a few seconds from the winners.
In a very matched battle, Marqués managed to win (9: 12.30) to a Marta García who battled, but who could not with the Segoviana in a very tactical race (9: 13.06).
Mónica Borraz's sensational contest
The Sunday morning would also be prolific for Leonese athletics, which would achieve a new medal from the hand of a regular, Mónica Borraz who, although he did not arrive with his best brands, proved to be a cream competitor.

In the male test, Daniel Gutiérrez, who achieved his ticket to the Spanish championships on the horn, could not overcome the first tie. Compeating in the last series, it ended with a time of 22.04.
In the Pentathlon, the young Irene Blanco withdrew injured in the long jump test, the fourth of the five that make up this discipline, ending in eleventh place with 3163 points. It was seventh in its series of 60 meters fences (8.92), tenth -tenth in height jump (1.49 meters) and twelfth in weight launch (9.66 meters), the same position as in length, where it could only complete an attempt (4.95 meters). He ended with 800 meters, where he achieved the ninth place with a time of 2: 32.03.
Already on the morning day of Saturday, the sprinter Leonesa Nora Suárez, of the Trops Cueva de Nerja, could not access the final in a semifinal disputed where she was fifth in the fourth series. With a single direct ticket per series and two more for times, the Leonese fought to end a record of 56.20.
