Is a heel turn nearing for Bianca Belair?
A part of the main roster since 2020, Belair is currently one of the most popular babyfaces on the WWE roster. Extremely popular with the young fanbase, she is currently one-half of the WWE women’s tag-team champions with Naomi.
With nearly half-decade as a babyface character, fans have long expected the EST to turn heel. However, the speculations increased when her former partner Jade Cargill was attacked backstage by an unidentified person. Rumored to be the attacker, Belair recently opened up on the chances of a heel turn.
During a virtual media event ahead of WWE Elimination Chamber, Bianca Belair spoke with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp about a possible character shift. While open to a villainous run, Belair named her condition for it.
“I never say never, but what I will say is that it would have to be something substantial and a bigger picture to it just because I feel like being a successful babyface, a babyface who is consistently able to keep their name at the top of the conversation, it very hard to get it. Once you get it, you don’t really want to let go of that. The longer you can hold on to that, if that heel turn happens, the bigger that heel turn will be.
If that does happen, I want to be the heel that people would not like. I don’t know if I’m ready for that or if everybody else is ready for that. It’s one thing when I hear fans say, ‘I love so and so as a heel.’ When I hear ‘love’ and ‘heel’ in the same sentence, that doesn’t work for me.
Someone like Nia Jax, how valuable she is to this division, playing that role, we need that. We’ll see what happens and where it goes right now. I don’t know if I’m ready for that or if the fans are ready for that, but when it happens, it’s going to be something big. If it ever happens, who knows.”

Belair and Naomi are currently in a cold war against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez and have frequently clashed against each other on television.
Bianca Belair’s Partner Naomi Also Comments On A Heel Turn
During an appearance on HUGE Pop!, Bianca Belair’s tag-team partner Naomi also opened up on a possible heel turn. Wrestling the majority of her career as a fan-favorite wrestler, Naomi believes if she turns heel, it has to be something different.
“I do love what Naomi has done and become at this point. However, I don’t ever want to become stagnant or complacent or coasting. I do feel like there is a time for the Glow or the character of Naomi to change or evolve. I’m always up for that challenge and I’m always thinking and pushing myself. Also, I don’t want to force anything, and I feel like that timing has to be right and thought out.
For me to change after being so connected and established, and with something that still works, I would want it to be worth it and I would want to go all in with it. If that does mean me going to the darker side, I don’t want to throw that away because it would be a big deal.
Not just for me, but for fans. I still think I’m a very safe woman on the roster where you can have a place everywhere. I’m an established and strong baby(face). If I was to get away from that, we have to go all the way. I gotta be nasty. I gotta be dirty. I have to be something ya’ll haven’t seen before. Everything has to change. I’m up for it. I would love that.”
