The week started with sunny days (despite the intense cold), but time is about to change dramatically.
The rain is back and, according to the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), there to stay in the coming days. Seven districts are already under yellow warning due to intense precipitation forecast.
According to Lusa agency, the southern region still escapes this Thursday, with periods of slightly cloudy or clean sky, although some high clouds may emerge throughout the day. In the north, the situation will be different, with rain returning in the late afternoon.
But the real problem begins at dawn on Friday, February 7th. Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto, Aveiro, Coimbra, Vila Real and Viseu are on yellow alert due to bad weather, with periods of heavy rain. The wind will also feel more intense, especially in the high areas.
The weekend promises to bring some rain relief, but do not delude you: the sky will remain gray and the minimum temperatures will go down, and may reach -2 ° C in Bragança and 8ºC in Faro.
If you had outdoor plans, you may be better options for a day on the couch with one (or several) blankets and a cup of warm tea!
