The National Police has reported Monday of the expulsion to Morocco from a convicted of crimes of jihadism that worked, since its release in 2022, in a hairdresser in Mataró (Barcelona). The 53 -year -old individual had been in prison for terrorism, accused of indoctrinating and capturing combatants for the Islamic State inside his business.
As reported on Monday by the police force, this person was arrested together with another individual in 2018 by the Civil Guard for being part of a jihadist Salafist cell that operated in Catalonia.
I worked as a hairdresser in Mataró acting as an indoctrinator
The investigation began in 2015, after a rogatory commission of Morocco, which allowed to attest their participation in the collection of combatants to send them to Syria and direct relations with different individuals integrated in different jihadist cells. The individual then worked as a hairdresser in Mataró, and indoctrinated in order to capture combatants and nourish the troops of the Islamic State. These collection tasks were carried out in the hairdressing itself that it ran, and in meetings in private homes in Mataró, Barcelona and Tarragona.
At the end of 2019, the General Police Station of Foreigners and Borders initiated a sanctioning procedure, derived from a prior complaint of the Head of Information of the Civil Guard, for the development of activities contrary to national security.
The hairdresser was provisional in 2022 and returned to the city of Mataró. From that date, the individual was monitored in all his movements by the local information brigade of Mataró in order to make a strong monitoring and prevent it from evolving in his radicalism.

At the request of the local curator of Mataró, this individual was extinguished by the residence authorization that he possessed and could find out that his own brother -in -law left Syria to fight with the Islamic State, and that he died in combat.
The National Court gave its approval for the expulsion, so a coordinated police device of location, detention and transfer was launched in which officials of the UCRIF of Barcelona, Gedex, of the local information brigade of Mataró and his BPI of Barcelona.
Its entry into the Schengen space for 10 years
The man was subsequently conducted by the road to Madrid, and he managed to materialize his successful expulsion in the middle of February to Casablanca (Morocco), with a prohibition of entry into the Schengen space for a period of 10 years.
Qualified expulsions are a strategic objective of the National Police, since they affect citizens with terrorist links and with deep radicalization, considering them assets with a very high danger for security.
