KAJ are a Finnish music and comedy group. Despite finishing second in their heat behind hot favourite MÄns Zelmerlöw, KAJ managed to gain traction on streaming and online views in the subsequent weeks, securing them the win. This marks the first Melodifestivalen debutant to win since Tusse in 2021 and coincidentally the second time in a row that a non-Swedish, but Nordic group have represented Sweden.
Having previously won the 2023 contest with Loreenâs Tattoo, last year Sweden were represented on home soil by Marcus and Martinus with âUnforgettableâ. They managed to receive a respectable 9th place but without a win, Sweden will now return to the semi finals. Sweden will be performing in the first half of the first semi final on Tuesday the 13th of May.

Since missing out on the final in 2010, Sweden has gone on to finish 3rd twice and has won the contest twice, only in 2013 did the country place outside of the top 10 in the final.
