The Segovian athlete Águeda Marqués has conquered the title of Champion of Spain in the 3,000 meters on covered track, imposing itself in the final of the National Championships that have been played this weekend in Madrid. With a time of 9: 12.30, Marqués crossed the goal in first position, surpassing Marta García, who recorded a 9: 13.06 chrono, and once again demonstrating her great capacity to compete nationally and internationally.

Marqués, who was recently a finalist in the 1,500 meters smooth at the Paris Olympic Games, achieved his triumph in the 3,000 meters thanks to a perfectly executed strategy. The prominence of Segovia in the national event did not end with the gold of Águeda Marqués, much less, because the also Segoviana Idaira Prieto broke into the podium, achieving a meritorious third place with a time of 9: 18.20, almost six seconds of the champion. For its part, the third Segovian during the test, Claudia Corral, of the beaches of Castellón, ended the test in the fifteenth position with a time of 9: 49.64.
