Dominik Mysterio has dismissed speculation about a recently released AEW star potentially joining The Judgment Day.
With Malakai Black, Miro, and Ricky Starks no longer under AEW contracts, rumours have swirled about their next moves. Starks recently debuted in NXT, while reports from Dave Meltzer suggest that WWE’s creative has discussed plans for both Black and Miro.
Among the speculation, some fans believe Malakai Black could align with The Judgment Day upon his WWE return. The January 20 episode of Monday Night Raw fuelled these rumours when Chad Gable sought advice from Dominik Mysterio regarding his issues with luchadors Penta, Dragon Lee, and Rey Mysterio. Dominik handed Gable a piece of paper with an unseen name, prompting speculation about Black’s possible involvement.
Gable’s cryptic remark:
“I’m about to master the dark arts of Lucha Libre”
added to the theory, as Black operates Dark Arts Pro Wrestling & Muay Thai alongside his wife, Zelina Vega.
Mysterio has pushed for Finn Balor to bring in a new member to The Judgment Day following JD McDonagh’s injury, but Balor rejected the idea on television. When actor and wrestling fan O’Shea Jackson Jr. posted a GIF on social media of Malakai Black, hinting at his potential Judgment Day affiliation, Mysterio was quick to respond.
Mysterio shut down the idea with a simple yet direct reply, posting a GIF that read:
“No. We’re good. Thanks.”
While WWE’s plans for Black remain uncertain, Mysterio’s response suggests that The Judgment Day may not be looking to add him to their ranks. However, this could just be an attempt to deceive fans, so they don’t expect Black’s return to join the faction.
What Losing Streak Is Dominik Mysterio Hoping To Break In 2025?
Dominik Mysterio addressed his WrestleMania losing streak and vowed to put an end to it at WrestleMania 41. Mysterio currently has a 0-3 record at WrestleMania having suffered his first loss at WrestleMania 38 where he teamed with his father, Rey Mysterio, in a losing effort against Logan Pual and The Miz. He was then bested by his father at WrestleMania 39 and at last year’s Mania, he was once again unsuccessful in a tag team match.
