[Trending News] Is NASCAR close to its own version of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce? Yes, if William Byron gets his wish

It seems that NASCAR superstar William Byron wants to take advantage of a fake news story that got him in the headlines this week.

During the 2023 NFL season, one of the biggest stories in the league was developing off the field. No, it was an investigation into some dirty dealings by a player or team. Instead, it was the budding love affair between Kansas City Chiefs legend Travis Kelce and pop mega-star Taylor Swift.

Swift brought even more interest to the already popular sports league by attending a bunch of Chiefs regular season games and all of their matchups on the road to winning a Super Bowl championship. It was a storyline that merged sports and mainstream news. And it brought the sort of positive attention every sports brand would love.

This week, 2025 Daytona 500 winner William Byron was thrust into the spotlight when a social account with his name on it seemingly attempted to draw the attention of pop music star Sabrina Carpenter on one of her posts. However, it was later revealed that it was a fake account and he was not trying to shoot his shot at the “Espresso” singer.

Well, maybe he actually is according to comments he gave to TMZ Sports this week.

“They do a really good job with Photoshop nowadays,” Byron joked about the fake account. “It was a good parody account — it’s like that NBA Centel account. They did a good job… Maybe we can get her out to a race or something, that would be great. Or I can get to a show. That would be fun.”

It sure seems like Byron does not mind the idea of being linked to the singer who has sold over three million albums. Especially since he is a fan of her work. “Her music’s pretty good,” he told the outlet.

Maybe she won’t mind being connected to a star NASCAR racer with 14 Cup Series victories on his resume. The racing league would be smart to find out. And offer up an invitation to an event in 2025 and get closer to their own version of Kelce-Swift.
