Staff at the airport told CTV News they have shut down all arrivals and departures at this time. While the airport did not immediately confirm that, Pearson’s website lists multiple delays impacting arrivals and departures.

An accident with an airplane led to activation of an emergency plan at Pearson International Airport in Toronto, Canada.
According to Reuters, which quotes Canadian CTV, there is still no information on what happened to the plane carrying 80 people. The same CTV states that there are several injuries following the accident.
To CP24 the paramedics confirmed the existence of 17 injured, three of them, including a child, are in a critical situation.
Pearson airport confirmed the accident on social network X, noting that it is a Delta Airlines plane coming from Minneapolis, in the United States, on a flight that takes about two hours. “Emergency teams are on site. We know where all passengers and crew are,” read the same publication.

In the first images available on site, where there is a lot of snow, it can be seen that the plane is turned backwards, with the landing train up, which is not at all normal.
Airport employees referred to CTV that all coolings and landings were suspended. The airport website does not confirm this scenario, but there are several warnings of significant delays and even diverged flights, including a flight from Lisbon, which was diverted to Montreal.
