Donald Trump spoke on the phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin and, according to the US president, agreed to “immediately start negotiations.” The Kremlin said that the conversation lasted an hour and a half and that the leaders of the two countries agreed to organize a personal meeting. According to Trump, the conversation was very productive. Almost immediately after that, he also called the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.

The first to talk about the conversation was Donald Trump. “I just talked on the phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin for a long time and very productively,” he wrote on his social network Truth Social.

Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov soon confirmed that such a conversation took place. It lasted “almost an hour and a half.”

According to Trump, the leaders of the two countries discussed Ukraine, the Middle East, energy, artificial intelligence, “the power of the dollar and many other topics.” Peskov also called the exchange of prisoners, the Iranian nuclear program and cooperation between Russia and the USA.

“But first of all, as we both agreed, we want to stop millions of deaths in the Russian war with Ukraine,” Trump wrote. They, Trump claims, agreed that their teams “negotiate” about the end of the war “immediately start the negotiations.

Peskov said that Putin, in response to Trump’s words about a possible world with Ukraine, mentioned “the need to eliminate the root causes of the conflict and agreed with Trump that long -term settlement could be achieved through peaceful negotiations.”

The Kremlin also noted that Putin spoke about the readiness to accept American officials in Russia, including those who will engage in Ukraine. However, Peskov did not directly talk about the possible imminent beginning of negotiations.

Trump wrote that he would call President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky right now to tell him about a conversation with Putin.

Negotiations from the American side will be conducted by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, National Security Advisor Michael Waltz and Special Supervisor Steve Witkoff.

According to Peskov, Putin invited Trump to visit Moscow, and the presidents agreed to continue personal contacts – including the organization of a personal meeting.

Later, answering the questions of journalists in the oval office, Trump himself said that the first meeting with Putin will be held in Saudi Arabia.

“I want to thank President Putin for devoting time for this conversation, and for the fact that Mark Vogel was released yesterday, an amazing person whom I personally greeted in the White House last night. I believe that our efforts will lead to a successful result, I hope, soon! ” – So Trump completed his message.

Soon after a conversation with Putin, Trump, as promised, talked with Vladimir Zelensky. According to BBC correspondents, the conversation expectedly lasted about an hour.

Zelensky himself in his telegram channel confirmed that he was a conversation, but told about him in the most general terms.

“He just spoke to Donald Trump. A long conversation. About the possibility of reaching peace. About our readiness to work together at the level of teams. About our technological capabilities, in particular, drones and other modern production. I am grateful to President Trump for an interest in what we can do together, ”wrote Zelensky.

He said that the US president told him about the details of his conversation with Vladimir Putin.

“Ukraine most wants the world. We determine our common steps with America to stop Russian aggression and guarantee a reliable, long world, ”Zelensky wrote.

In turn, Donald Trump said that the conversation with Zelensky was “very good”.

“He, like President Putin, wants to make peace. We discussed many issues related to the war, but mainly a meeting that will be held on Friday in Munich, where Vice President Jay Di Wence and Secretary of State Marco Rubio will head the delegation. I hope that the results of this meeting will be positive, ”Trump wrote.

Neither Zelensky nor Trump reported any conditions of a peace agreement or preliminary agreements.
