Moritz Nicolas took his first steps in football in Gladbeck with Adler Ellinghorst and SV Zweckel. The 1.93-meter hood has been playing Borussia Mönchengladbach for ten years now. Last year, the club extended the contract with the keeper until 2029.

In 2015, Nicolas moved to the second team of Borussia Mönchengladbach from Hafenstrasse. The Gladbacher awarded the goalkeeper to Union Berlin in 2019, the following year to VfL Osnabrück, in 2021 to Viktoria Cologne and in 2022 to Roda Kerkrade in the Netherlands.

Since returning to Gladbach in the summer of 2023, Nicolas has continued to develop and has established itself in the current season.
