Rafael Payá became rappel when he discovered that his perceptions were really clarive. One of them, the most tragic, was to “see” that one of his children would not exceed the year of life a few months before it happened. It was not the first time that there were premonitions And those qualities began to be taken seriously.
Actually, in those early years before becoming a public figure, his work was to continue with the family business. His father was a tailor and owner of a fabric store with exclusive fabrics that he bought in Paris and Milan. Rappel became designer and set up his sewing workshop in the same building in the Salamanca neighborhood. A. That nobody wait in this book criticism or ugly comments. What I tell are my beautiful experiences, although there are also tragedies. There is thanks to the press that has always treated me wonderfully.
Q. Balance of your 79 years, what would you highlight?
A. I am very grateful. I have had two great tragedies that were the death of my son and my little sister. A few moments that I still remember sadly, but at the same time with that thanks to all the people who helped me and wrapped in those sad circumstances.
Q. Is being a seer a task for yourself?
A. A little yes, in the sense of feeling heart, fleeting bursts and intuitions that are then fulfilled. For example, the robbery I suffered in Marbella.

Q. Did this misfortune influence your marriage?
A. No, because we both assumed it with a lot of pain, but we threw forward because we already had a child. Then two more arrived. It was a tragedy. It was very difficult to assume that a baby who has been born well.
Q. You have three children who have preferred not to have public visibility.
A. They are very discreet. They have their organized life and my relationship with them is splendid. We love each other a lot and our family environment is great.
Q. How did you accept divorce?
A. I went a lot at night because I was carrying the public relations of Florida Park, I went to all the artists' parties because it was my job. He arrived home at four or five in the morning and those schedules were difficult to wear in the marriage.
Q. And you relationship with José María, how did they see it?
A. Well also well. They met and show each other. We are a family that we love, that we respect each other and the important thing is that we all be happy. We got married six years ago and said nothing. I am very proud to have a wonderful man by my side.
Q. Those who have known you for a long time have always seen you with José María. You never had to hide.
We have been together for thirty -eight years. He started as secretary to take all my agenda and soon they invited me to a trip to Egypt and came with me. And from that date a more intimate relationship arose. José María had his girlfriends and had never been with any man. His family was very traditional and it seemed strange. At first we carry it with discretion. My mother who was a very conservative person and said: “Look, if I love my son I love you.”

Q. Your father was tailor and you inherited the business. You could have been one of the great sewing. Why did you leave it?
A. I was working with Balenciaga and learned the trade. When he closed his sewing house in Madrid in 1971 I had the fabric store on Ayala street. In 1969 the ground floor of the building was free and there I organized my workshop. It worked until the haute couture crisis came with Prêt-à-porter fashion. Some ladies commissioned me three costumes and wanted to pay one. Everything came together and I left it.

A. More than incompatible, a little madness. I was as a designer, with the fabric store, my work in Florida Park and on top I threw the cards in my office.
P. Your store and workshop on Ayala Street became a meeting place with the Countess of Barcelona, to which you did the majority of her closet, including the gowns of being home. What memories do you have of her?
A. He was a wonderful, fun and good person who suffered a lot. I remember that I designed a jacket for a very important day that was when the Count of Barcelona gave his dynastic rights to Don Juan Carlos. Doña María worshiped the king.
Q. Your workshop also served as an excuse of infidelities. The phrase “I'm going to see Rappel that a suit is doing to me”, served for everything.
A. Of course I was in secret, but it was something that happened in many families.
Q. For those who do not believe much in the future, they do recognize you that you give tranquility.
A. I try to be very positive. The moment I have the cards in front, I see how good that person comes.

Q. There were several summers in which Chabeli was chasing you and you were in a beach at the beach of the Don Pepe Hotel in Marbella. Does the relationship still maintain?
