The trade deadline is over in the NBA and the Philadelphia 76ers made their moves as they feel like they are positioned well enough to go after a championship in the East despite the 20-30 start to the season.
The Sixers added sharpshooter Quentin Grimes from the Dallas Mavericks in a deal and they also added a talented guard in Jared Butler. They also got below the luxury tax and created some financial flexibility for the future.
With the deadline now over, the Sixers will reportedly give a former first-round pick a chance in a return. Chuma Okeke, the No. 16 pick of the 2019 draft, will sign a 10-day deal with the Sixers after playing all season in the G League with the Westchester Knicks.
The Philadelphia 76ers are signing Chuma Okeke to a 10-day contract out of the NBA G League’s Westchester Knicks, sources tell ESPN.
