[Trending News] February Marks Microsoft’s First Xbox Game Studios Release Of 2025

Well, 2025 is officially kicking into gear now that January has come and gone – some of the biggest game publishers in the world are set to drop major projects this month. Of course, one of those is Xbox with Obsidian’s Avowed – and we’re just checking in to see how excited everyone is for this upcoming first-party release.

It feels like we’ve been talking about Avowed in some fashion for ages at this point, especially because the game got delayed out of 2024, after being in one of the team’s biggest Developer Direct showcases that year. That extra development time will hopefully have helped Obsidian out though, and we’re looking forward to seeing the final version in action later this month.

Although we’re not exactly connoisseurs of the Pillars of Eternity universe here at Pure Xbox HQ, Avowed is looking like it has more than enough behind it to stand on its own two feet. A bit of The Elder Scrolls here, a bit of Obsidian’s own The Outer Worlds there – Avowed will hopefully be a deep and engaging experience that all Xbox Game Pass players can enjoy this month.
